Required technical skills:
• Substantial working experience as an Environment Artist, Materials Artist or other relevant experience using node-based procedural material pipelines
• Portfolio demonstrating complex and hyper-realistic materials - assets must show strong attention to detail focusing on photo-realism
• Extensive experience creating hyper-realistic and complex procedural materials based on reference images
• Expert knowledge of Substance Designer workflows• Excellent sense for detail, form, texture and color
Required personal skills:
• A solution-oriented approach to problem solving powered by initiative and exploration
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently, solve problems on the fly, and collaborate efficiently across disciplines in a small, fast moving team
• You are at home in a shader graph and are constantly thinking of new ways to use the technology
Bonus if you have:
• Strong knowledge in procedural 3D content generation in Houdini, Blender, Maya or other relevant software
• Experience in creating procedural materials in Blender
• Experience with Houdini
• Programming and or scripting knowledge is a bonus (Python, C#, C++, or similar)
• Interest in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Lea
You will be responsible for creating hyper-realistic node-based procedural material pipelines from the scratch based on reference images. If you have an excellent sense for natural patterns, an eye for textures, a mind for scalability and a high level of expertise and knowledge in procedural content creation, we would love to talk to you.
Other responsibilities:
• Create photo-realistic and complex procedural node-based material pipelines based on reference images
• Create highly complex, elegant, and efficient procedural workflows in Substance Designer and / or Blender (or other relevant software)
• Create materials with the end-user in mind, with a focus on simple and easy to understand parameters that control complex material functions
• Define, set and implement high quality technical standards and practices for the construction of end-to-end material creation pipelines• Build and maintain an internal PBR material library
• Documenting material workflows for both in-house and external artists
• Participate in high-level discussions about adjusting or designing materials editing workflows
